IOWave16 Tsunami Exercise carried out in the Islamic Republic of Iran

On 8 September 2016, the IOWave16 Tsunami Exercise has been carried out in Chabahar in the Islamic Republic of Iran, simulating a 9 Mw earthquake.

In Sri Lanka, as part of IOWave16 tabletop exercises were carried out in 14 districts involving over 750 stakeholders. In total, almost 6,000 people participated in the tsunami exercise, which had an inclusive character.
